APRIL SHOWERS BRING MAY FLOWERS…

That is often true, but most of the U.S. has been extremely warm for the last few weeks, so flowers are blooming and pollen is plentiful. So plentiful it has created a lovely light yellowish hue on every possible surface here in Atlanta. You can often see it floating along in the air with the breeze.
Usually, I begrudgingly tolerate the pollen and the accompanying allergies because of the beautiful, aromatic payoff – vibrant azaleas, crape myrtles, peonies, irises, roses – you get the picture. Well, with my anosmia, I certainly get the visual enjoyment, but not necessarily the fragrance.
But I am happy to report that I am starting to see a bit of improvement! In the last month or so, I’ve had consistent instances of smell (and taste). It is typically aligned with strong, bold aroma profiles and though faint, they are there and I am celebrating each and every moment.
It may completely resolve itself or it may not improve any further than it has, but I’m going to enjoy the improvement no matter how small. Life is short…enjoy every moment!
Happy Spring!!!
As always…I am the Tasteless Gourmand!
